Longpont, on the edge of the forest of Retz, 90 km from Paris, on the large village square rise the majestic ruins of the old Abbey opening onto the park surrounded by wooded hillsides.
The old abbey dates from the 13th century, but the buildings were transformed in the 18th century. The cellar of the thirteenth and the vaulted passage have been preserved with the large windows eighteenth. The 18th century staircase, preceded by a large vestibule, leads to the first floor to a large gallery overlooking the courtyard, the cloister and the abbey.
The 18th century cloister leads to the former Gothic central fireplace (on duty). The important ruins of the Gothic abbey church can be lit at night and are visible from the ground floor and the large gallery of the 1st floor. All rooms are paved and heated with hot air.
