History

A fortress and a stately!
Saint-Mesmin Castle, a fortress of the middle ages classified Historical Monument since 1993.
Rebuilt around 1370 by stone of Montfaucon, Knight and Lord of Saint-Mesmin, it underwent a major fortification late fourteenth century.
It has the charm of a small military fortress combined with attention to comfort of the end of the middle ages. Keep of 28 m high crowned and machicolations, arrow loops-gunboats, drawbridge and remains of the hourds testify to the military architecture of this fortress built during the hundred years war.

Received in March 2014, the top tourism "tourism and disability" on the part of ADT and two Sèvres and the new Republic
