Château de Courcelles-le-Roy

45300, Courcelles

This former 12th century castle, destroyed twice during the Hundred Years War, was rebuilt in the 15th century. Several kings resided there, notably Saint Louis in 1247 and Charles VIII in 1493, which received the Florentine ambassadors. In August of that year, his wife Anne de Bretagne gave birth to a son who did not survive.

After many vicissitudes in the twentieth century, it is in restoration since the year 2000.
