History

The castle was built around 1290 by Gilles de Mortagne, lord of Potelles. It is protected by large moats and an irregular polygonal enclosure, reinforced with cylindrical towers. The imposing gatehouse gives access to the courtyard around which are arranged the main house, the outbuildings and a chapel.
