Introduction

The castle Ripaille, ideally located on the edge of Lake Geneva, was built in the fifteenth century by Amedee VIII.
Former residence of the Dukes of Savoy, a former Carthusian monastery, the site, then in ruins, was acquired in 1892 by an esthete industrialist, Frédéric Engel-Gros, who made it a "total work of art" including the historic buildings, gardens and gardens. the big park.
Everything is harmonious, architecture and interior decoration, gardens, vineyards, forests. Helped by two brilliant architects, he made Ripaille a daring creation mixing medieval style and Art Nouveau.

The castle is, since 1976, the seat of a Foundation.
Today, Ripaille is, for the most part, a private domain, which produces a famous A.O.C wine.
However, thanks to agreements made between the family who owns this estate, the Ripaille Foundation - which owns the castle at the four towers - and the town of Thonon-les-Bains - owner of a quarter of the woods and meadows, as well as banks - the most interesting parts of the site are open to visits and animated by multiple events.

Also enjoy the charms of this exceptional place to organize private or professional events in the lounges and gardens.
