« Château des Forges de Lanouée »
The Forges of Lanouée Castle is located on the site of ancient ironworks built in 1756 by the Duke of Rohan. The industry has worked for a hundred years; in the 19th century, the Director's House has been transformed into a castle of style Louis XIII.
The castle today
Between 1908 and 1910, the ruins of the factory were razed and replaced by a French garden, decorated with a basin with a nymphaeum.
Industrial buildings, there's just the blast furnace used as a water tower for watering the garden. In 1934, a hydroelectric plant, working always, was created from the hydraulic system that fed the forge.
