In the heart of Beaujolais, the castle, built in the 11th century, was a fortress surrounded by a quadrangular enclosure flanked by towers and with a drawbridge. It was destroyed in 1432 by the Burgundians.
Rebuilt at the end of the 15th century, it was transformed in the following century into a pleasure residence. He kept his square dungeon, a Gothic chapel, a courtyard with Renaissance style galleries.
It is surrounded by a park of 3 ha, home to a French garden, around which extend 90 ha of vineyards to the famous production, and faces a cuvage of the seventeenth century, one of the largest of the region.
