Castle of La Palice (12th - 15th - 16th): the residence of the famous Marshal of France is built on the edge of the Besbre. From 1430, the castle is owned by the family of Chabannes. The ceiling of the Golden lounge, sixteenth, of renaissance style, is considered unique in Europe. It is composed of lozenges of perfectly symmetrical wood, painted and gilded in the sheet. This exhibition also presents tapestries from the 16th century. The Chapel (15th), where rests the family Chabannes since 1453, of flamboyant Gothic style, welcomes the (15th) lying 1 Jacques Chabannes and his wife, Anne de Lee. The Castle also offers exposure to a single collection dedicated to the flags of the nations.

My castle is visitable

From 01/04/2015 09:00 to 18:00 01/11/2015 periodicity: annually the building undertaken in 1527 is the work of Florentine Jacques II of Chabannes, Lord of La Palice, had returned to Italy. The high terrace of the Castle, where the entrance porch, guests have views on the Besbre and its Valley. In the apartments, a magnificent gilded coffered ceiling and two tapestries of the valiant adorn the Golden lounge. Also notice the table of the Veronese school, in the library. The chapel where are buried the Chabannes was rebuilt in the middle of the 15th century.
