History

Archetype of a "madness" of the eighteenth, residence of charm and pleasure or home of the fields, the destiny of Portabéraud is linked to a notable riomois, Baron Gabriel Mercier ( [xxxxxxx] ), who bequeaths us a wonderful testimony in the full swing of the spirit of the Enlightenment. He will be the first mayor of Mozac in 1790. You will discover the art of the ironwork omnipresent on the site, the chapel with its painted medallions, its stuccoes and its remarkable platform, as well as the terracotta statues during your walk in the gardens. Close to the abbey Saint-Pierre de Mozac which counts among its treasures remarkable historical capitals of Romanesque art.
