The Château de Villemorien, classified as a Historic Monument, is located in the heart of the Champagne vineyard on the "Côte des Bar" in the south-east of the Department of Dawn, near Bar-sur-Seine. Surrounded by a 13-hectare walled park with woods and gardens, comfortable rooms, characterful and well-equipped kitchens, welcoming lounges make it an ideal holiday spot with family or friends. It is a place that is both charming and functional, which allows you to discover the art of living and the riches of the region.
The castle today
During the Revolution, the Château de Villemorien housed Hubert Robert, a famous landscape painter of the late 18th century (now the first curator of the Louvre, when the Louvre Palace was transformed into a museum in 1795). Hubert Robert is the originator of the decoration of the listed salon of the Château de Villemorien, known as "Sanctuary of Madness"; he had also set up gardens in the castle park.
